Srinagar: Three civilians have suffered injuries during clashes with government forces near the gunfight site in Nadigam village of Shopian district in southern Kashmir.
Reports said that violent clashes erupted near the gunfight site Tuesday morning after the local youth hit streets and pelted government forces with rocks and stones in a bid to help the trapped militants escape.
They said that the government forces fired tear smoke shells and pellets to disperse the protesting youth. However, the youths assembled again and again and clashed with the forces.
Sources at District Hospital Shopian confirmed to Kashmir Reader that three youth were admitted to the hospital after suffering injuries at the gunfight site.
The clashes were going on when this report was being filed.
Meanwhile, the government authorities have suspended mobile internet services in Shopian and Pulwama districts.
