❤??❤October 1947. Pakistan resorted to violence and plunder in J&K under the garb of an uprising. The Pakistani misadventure codenamed 'Operation Gulmarg' was launched by Pakistan Army with tribal militias and ex-armymen. Pakistan's plan emerged on 22 October 1947, when intruders entered J&K, armed with modern weapons and unlimited supply of ammunition. On signing of the Instrument of Accession on 26 October 1947, the Indian Army airlifted troops into Srinagar on 27 October 1947. #InfantryDay. Fought in rugged, high altitude and snow bound areas; Indian Army launched operations with vigour and were sustained through exemplary courage and self-reliance.
