Former legislator Abid Ansari resigns from PDP Former MLA and a top Shia leader Abis Hussain Ansari on Saturday resigned from Peoples Democratic Party. Announcing his resignation on microblogging website Twitter, Ansari said the PDP has failed the people on all fronts. “I hereby announce my resignation from @jkpdp as the party has failed the people of J&K on all fronts. I don’t want to be a part of the lies and deception being perpetuated by the party. Hv sent a detailed letter of resignation to @MehboobaMufti. Will soon interact with the media,” tweeted Abid Ansari. This comes two days after former finance minister and PDP MLA Haseeb Drabu resigned from the party. Abid’s nephew Imran Ansari recently left the PDP and joined the People’s Conference (PC) led by former minister Sajad Gani Lone.
